Miami's abandoned animals need temporary safe havens. You don't need experience or a perfect home — just compassion and a willingness to help.
Every year, thousands of animals in Miami find themselves without a safe place to call home. Shelters do incredible work, but they can only hold so many. That's where foster families come in.
When you foster, you're not just giving an animal a roof over their head — you're giving them the time, space, and love they need to heal, grow, and ultimately find their forever home. Every foster, no matter how brief, genuinely saves a life.
"We built this organization around everything we wished we had: real support, transparency, and a voice in the process."
As a foster, you'll never pay a dime. We provide all the supplies and veterinary care your foster animal needs.
Wet & dry food, bowls, litter, crates, pads, and toys
Vaccines, microchips, spay/neuter, and treatments
Formula, bottles, and everything for neonate care
Fostering means temporarily opening your home to an animal in need. There are three main commitment options: short stays (a few days for emergencies), two-week quarantine periods for new intakes, or longer-term care until the animal finds their forever home. Every foster, no matter how brief, genuinely saves a life.
We built our organization around everything we wished we had as fosters: real support, transparency, and a voice in the process. You'll have access to a foster group chat, regular meetups, involvement in the adoption process, and a team that genuinely values your time and effort.
No. We cover everything: wet and dry food, bowls, litter, crates, pads, toys, formula and bottles for bottle babies, vaccines, microchips, spay/neuter, and all medical treatments. You provide the love — we handle the rest.
Foster animals must be kept indoors with appropriate meals and enrichment. Dogs need regular walks. You'll take photos and videos for adoption listings and participate in virtual interviews with potential adopters. Supplies can be picked up in Homestead, Cutler Bay, and Kendall.
Yes! Fostering is eligible for volunteer hours for students with parental written consent and active parental involvement throughout the foster period.
Choose the application that's right for you. Whether you can open your home or lend your time, we need you.
