Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. KPA is 100% foster-based. All animals in our care live in private foster homes. For the safety of our fosters and animals, we do not have a public facility.

  • Adoption fees are based on the age, species, medical care, and needs of each animal. Fees help cover essential care such as:

    • Vaccinations

    • Spay/neuter or other surgical procedures

    • Deworming and parasite prevention

    • Microchipping

    • Additional medical treatments received while in KPA care

Important: Many animals require medical care that far exceeds their adoption fee. Adoption fees are never profit—they help reduce costs for all animals in our care, ensuring we can continue rescuing and providing for more pets.

Some animals, such as purebred kittens and cats, may have higher adoption fees due to breed demand or additional care considerations. Others, like senior or special-needs pets, may have reduced fees to encourage adoption.

  • Yes. Kitty Puppy Alliance is a registered nonprofit, and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Donors can request a receipt for their records by emailing info@kittypuppy.org

  • Kitty Puppy Alliance is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based organization. While we do our best to respond as quickly as possible, response times may be delayed due to limited volunteer availability and the high volume of daily inquiries.

    Please know:

    • Emails are answered in the order they are received

    • Urgent animal care needs are prioritized

    • Some requests require coordination between multiple volunteers

If you haven’t received a response yet, it does not mean your message was ignored. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our volunteers balance animal care, personal responsibilities, and the mission of KPA.

  • Kitty Puppy Alliance works to support pets and their people whenever possible, and to rescue and rehome animals in need. We may be able to provide support with:

    • Temporary foster care for pets

    • Pet food or essential supplies

    • Veterinary referrals or partial medical assistance

    • Guidance and resources to help you keep your pet

    • Connecting you with human services for food, clothing, or other basic needs through our partners

    • Opportunities for volunteer hours

    • Matching families with adoptable pets from our rescue

Support depends on available resources and capacity, and we prioritize both keeping pets safely in their homes and finding loving homes for animals in need.

Note: We do not typically accept owner surrenders or operate a public shelter. If keeping a pet isn’t possible, we will provide guidance and referrals to other organizations.

  • No. All animals adopted through Kitty Puppy Alliance are spayed or neutered before adoption. This ensures the health of the animal and helps prevent overpopulation.
